The University Libraries are delighted to announce the launch of Faculty Select, a new resource designed to assist faculty in finding and selecting quality open and affordable course materials.

Search Faculty Select now!

Faculty Select is an excellent starting place for faculty to discover and select curated and authoritative e-books for their courses through a single, easy-to-use interface. Search thousands of titles across all disciplines including Open Education Resources (OER) from major Open repositories, EBSCO’s Open Access eBook Collection, and DRM-free* e-books from top academic publishers (i.e., Wiley, Taylor & Francis, Cambridge, etc.) that faculty can request the library purchase. Once you identify a title that is of interest, you can evaluate the book and decide if it is something you want to adopt for your course.

Every single resource that you can find in Faculty Select either has a link ready to embed in Canvas, or a request form to let us know that you would like us to purchase it for the library collections. By leveraging free open materials and low-cost library-licensed resources, faculty can transform their courses and reduce the cost burden for students.

Please note that Faculty Select does not include offerings from all publishers, nor every OER that is out there. If you do not find anything that fits with your course, there may be other options. Please see the library’s Open Education Resource Guide for more information or contact your liaison librarian.

*DRM-free e-Books provide unlimited access to users without Digital Rights Management restrictions on printing, downloading, copying, or saving.
