New Library Services Unlocked for Bloomfield Students

As a Bloomfield campus student, you will have received an email which asked you to activate your new Montclair NetID. By having a NetID, a plethora of new services has just been unlocked for you at University Libraries!

Placing a Hold on Sprague Library Books and Media

In order to place a hold on a physical resource, Bloomfield campus patrons previously had to travel to Sprague Library, place an interlibrary loan request, or call the front desk at Sprague Library to place a hold. Now, with a NetID, patrons can find the item in the library’s catalog, login using their NetID, and place a hold online. The item can then be picked up at Sprague Library or sent to Bloomfield College Library via intercampus delivery.

Expanded Access to Databases and Other E-Resources

Bloomfield campus students previously had to be on the Bloomfield campus WiFi or on a computer in Bloomfield College Library to access e-resources such as databases, e-journals, ebooks, and streaming media provided by Sprague Library. They can now access these resources from anywhere in the world by logging in with their NetID.

Interlibrary Loan

Sometimes your desired item isn’t available at either Bloomfield College Library or Sprague Library. With interlibrary loan, it’s easy to request the item be delivered from another library. Simply find the item in the library’s catalog and select the Request via Interlibrary Loan (ILL) button associated with that item, login with your NetID, and complete the request form. The item can then be picked up from your selected library.

EZBorrow

In addition to traditional interlibrary loan, Bloomfield campus patrons can also use their NetID to take advantage of EZBorrow, our expanded and fast interlibrary lending solution made up of 60+ academic libraries. If an item is not available at either Bloomfield College Library or Sprague Library, users can select the EZBorrow button associated with that item in the catalog, submit their request, and receive the item in 5 – 7 business days!

Sprague Library Study Spaces

Sprague Library contains 21 study spaces that can be booked via our website. Before having NetIDs, Bloomfield campus students had to travel to the Montclair campus and inquire at the front desk if they could book a study room. Now they can use their NetID to book a study room from their own computer or mobile device ahead of time, with no need to stop at the front desk.
