Mitsuha is bored of country life and wants to live in Tokyo. Taki is a high school student in Tokyo who works part-time in an Italian restaurant and aspires to become an architect or an artist.   One night they switch places.  Mitsuha wakes up in Taki’s body, and he in hers.  They develop a strong bond and communicate by leaving notes, messages, and more importantly, an imprint.
