Students enrolled in service-learning courses are expected to be active
learners and participants in helping to resolve community issues. They
are challenged to integrate classroom learning with community service,
thus gaining first-hand knowledge through experience. They work in community-based
programs to meet real community needs. Students enrich and expand community
efforts to address issues of concern at local, state and/or national levels.
