Health and Wellness

Students participating in this issue area are enrolled in the course Personal Health Issues and they perfume their service by participating in the Wellness Education programs of the Wellness Center at MSU.

Wellness Education believes that the best preventive medicine is knowledge; so they provide outreach activities and educational workshops on all kinds of health and wellness issues. Several programming approaches are utilized in order to achieve this. Topics are wide-ranging and uncompromised in nature. Wellness Education strives to empower students to foster healthy decision making. This Service-Learning experience focuses on community health education and provides an opportunity to function as a community health educator for the campus community. Students participate in activities including, but not limited to:

Alcohol and Drug Awareness
The Great American Smokeout
Safer Sex/ Health Relationship Day (Valentine's Day)
Surviving the Semester- Stress Relief Exhibit
World AIDS Day
Safer Spring Break
Breast Cancer Awareness
Wellness Day/ Health Fair
