January Workshop and Faculty Meeting The Service-Learning Program will be holding a workshop and faculty meeting during the winter break in January. The workshop titled: Integrating Reflection and Assessment in Service-Learning: A Case Study of the Scholarship of Learning will be conducted by Dr. Patti Clayton of North Carolina State University. As Coordinator of NCSU’s Service-Learning Program and Assistant Director of the Faculty Center on Teaching and Learning, Dr. Clayton will focus on an innovative model of critical reflection and offer some insights into the extraordinary opportunities that service-learning offers for the scholarship of teaching and learning. Following the workshop, MSU's Dr. David Keiser along with Dr. Clayton will facilitate a lunch time discussion on service-learning research and propose some ideas for using service-learning as a gateway to scholarship. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, January 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Sokol Seminar Room in Science Hall (lunch will be provided). The Engaged Campus Conference is an annual forum to showcase what classes, individuals, professors, staff, students, and student organizations are doing to bridge the academic experience with community and/or public service.
