Student Research Symposium

“Promoting Collaboration across Disciplines”
Saturday, April 20, 2013 - University Conference Center
8:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Congratulations. Yasemin Besen-Cassino, Distinguished University Professor!

I am pleased to invite you to the First Montclair State University Distinguished Scholar Lecture, "Consuming Work: Teenage Labor and Finding Jobs after the Recession" by this year's Distinguished Scholar of the Year, Dr. Yasmin Besen-Cassino, Associate Professor of Sociology, College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She will discuss the research for her upcoming book which looks at why so many young people work while still in school.  Based on in-depth interviews with workers, her study explores the way these young people are finding jobs after the recession and points to the effects of race and gender inequality in the labor market.

The Lecture will be held in University Hall, Room 1010, on April 11 at 2:30 PM.  All are welcome.
