Addiction Workforce Promotion Scholarship
Description: The purpose of the Addiction Workforce Promotion Scholarship is to provide an annual Graduate Scholarship to a Master's level student majoring in Addiction Counseling in the Graduate Counseling program, College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University.
Eligibility: Qualifications pertaining to recipients:
- An eligible applicant is preferably a full time student accepted into the graduate Master's level Counseling program in CEHS and majoring in Addictions Counseling at Montclair State University;
- New Jersey Resident, with minimum GPA of 3.0, and proven financial need;
- This scholarship is not applicable for students in the Substance Awareness Coordinator (SAC) Certificate Program.
Award Amount: One student will be awarded $1000 to be used for tuition in the Fall and Spring semester.
Deadline: April 15th
Application Process: To be considered for the Addiction Workforce Promotion Scholarship, students must submit the online Addiction Workforce Promotion Scholarship Application by the deadline.
*If a student accepts a graduate assistantship, the student is not eligible for any other University or Montclair State University Foundation scholarship which offers a financial award.

Alice F. Freed Prize in Language, Discourse, and Society
Description: The "Alice F. Freed Prize in Language, Discourse, and Society" is an annual prize of $250 that recognizes one graduate student in Linguistics who completes the Master of Arts Degree Program in Applied Linguistics with outstanding work in the field of Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis, or Language and Culture. The prize will be awarded in May of each academic year.
Eligibility: For full details and requirements, please Alice Freed Scholarship Application.
Award Amount: $250
Deadline: Applications must be received at the Linguistics Department Office by April 1st.
Application Process: To be considered for this prize, students must fill out the Alice Freed Scholarship Application (page 3 of this announcement) and submit it to the Linguistics Department Office by April 1 of the academic year of graduation, whether for a January, May or August graduation. Albert Wang Dissertation Award
Description: The Albert Wang Dissertation Award is available to qualified full or part-time doctoral students at Montclair State University who are enrolled in their courses for dissertation advisement.
Eligibility: Students:
- Must be fully matriculated in a doctoral program at MSU
- Must be enrolled in or anticipate being enrolled in dissertation advisement at the time of the award
- Must have a dissertation proposal fully approved on file in The Graduate School
Award Amount: The Albert Wang Award Fund provides for one $1,500 tuition award to be given each Fall semester to assist doctoral students who are conducting scholarly research as a part of their dissertation.
Deadline: To be considered for the Albert Wang Dissertation Award, doctoral students must submit the following to The Graduate School by April 15th.
- The Albert Wang Dissertation Award Application form
- 5 page typed summary of their dissertation proposal with an abstract. Please include the importance of your research/area of inquiry to the field of discipline in which you are studying.
- Copy of Dissertation Proposal Approval form with all signatures
- Letter of support from dissertation advisor addressing scholarship of the work and its potential impact on the field
Application Process: Print out an Albert Wang Dissertation Award Application and submit it to The Graduate School.
Students will be evaluated on these materials as well as their academic performance in the doctoral program. Students will be notified of the results by mid-summer. Recipient must enroll in dissertation advisement for the semester of the award and must maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA. The recipient may not receive this award more than once nor hold another University scholarship or Graduate Assistantship simultaneously.

Newark Montclair Urban Teacher Residency Program
Description: The Newark-Montclair Urban Teacher Residency Program (N-MUTR) is an innovative apprenticeship-based program of study for individuals with a deep commitment to urban teaching. This Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program has two tracks: Early Childhood (P-3)/elementary(K-5)/Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSD) certification; and secondary, content area certification in Mathematics or a field of Science.
The program is no longer accepting students tothe Early Childhood (P-3)/Elementary (K-5)/Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSD) certification track.
Eligibility: You are eligible to apply to the Math or Science track of the NMUTR program if you meet the outlined minimum requirements listed below:
- A deep commitment to urban education
- A conferred bachelor's degree with a major in Math or a field of Science
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Passing scores on all required Praxis II exams (required as part of the application)
- Acceptable GRE scores
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Availability for an in-person interview with admission committee
- United States citizenship or Permanent Residency
Award Amount: The NMUTR offers full Montclair State tuition and fees plus a living stipend of $26,000 for the twelve month program Math/Science program
Deadline: March 15, 2013
*This is the last cohort of the N-MUTR Math and Science Track. Applications received after the deadline will be sent to the Secondary and Special Education Department.
Application Process: All eligible candidates are required to complete a Montclair State University Graduate School application.

Novartis Graduate Scholarship
Eligibility:
- First-time, full-time graduate student in a relevant master's program in CSAM: MS Pharmaceutical Biochemistry, MS Biochemistry or MS Molecular Biology.
- Commitment to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Prior appropriate work experience, internship or research, etc. with supporting letter(s) of recommendation helpful.
- Award will be based on merit in accordance with the admission requirements as outlined by the program.
Award Amount: $2,000 per semester for tuition and fees for four academic semesters. A one time $2,000 award for research related expenses.

- Research proposal in a field relevant to the phramaceutical industry and destined to be converted in the student;s master's thesis.
Expectations:
The student recipient shall be expected to:
- Maintain full-time status with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 with no grade below a B
- Be actively involved in the next PharmFest, pharma related activities and selected activities on the Norvatis campus and will be eligible for and encouraged to participate in internships at Norvatis.
- Participate in an MSU based student research symposium plus contribute a research presentation at at least one professional conference.

PharmFest Scholarship
Description:PharmFest has dual purposes. First, to help inform the academic, professional and surrounding communities about the ongoing importance and emerging issues of the pharmaceutical industry. And secondly, and certainly no less important, to help generate funds to support our many Montclair State University students who are seeking a career in the industry. Through the many contributions towards this event, funds are generated to create PharmFest Scholarships. These scholarships are dedicated to outstanding full time graduates students who are committed to pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry. To that end, we deeply thank and acknowledge all of our sponsors, donors and advertisers who help fulfill the dreams of our students.
Eligibility:
- First-time, full-time graduate student in a master's program in the College of Science and Mathematics or the School of Business
- Intend on pursuing a career in the Pharmaceutical industry
- Prior relevant work experience, internship or research, etc. with supporting letter(s) of recommendation a plus
- Award will be based on merit in accordance with the admission requirements as outlined by the program
- Be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Not receiving any other scholarship/assistantship from MSU
Award Amount: Tuition scholarship of $3,000 per year for two years

Robert J. Lieberman Advertising Graduate Scholarship
Description: A tuition award to financially assist one full-time or part-time MBA student concentrating in Marketing in the School of Business.
Eligibility: Applicans must be MBA students concentrating in Marketing and must have a minimum MBA GPA of 3.0.
Deadline: May 1st Please note the scholarship has been awarded for 2013-2014.
Application Process: To be considered for the Robert J. Lieberman Advertising Graduate Scholarship, students must submit the online application by the deadline.
*MBA graduate assistants are not eligible to receive the Robert Lieberman Scholarship because if a student accepts a graduate assistanship, the student is not eligible for any other University or Montclair State University Foundation scholarship which offers a financial award.

Saul and Adelaide Goldfarb Scholarship (Master's and Doctoral)
Description: The Graduate School administers the Saul and Adelaide Goldfarb Graduate Scholarships awarded by the Montclair State University Foundation. The Montclair State University Foundation supports the activities of the University in many ways. Through its endowments, the Foundation has made funds available for scholarships to graduate students. A limited number of scholarships are offered each year to qualified graduate students. The Saul and Adelaide Goldfarb Graduate Scholarships are available to qualified new students at Montclair State University who have not previously earned a master's or doctoral degree.
Eligibility: Applicants must be newly admitted and fully accepted into a master's or doctoral program for the upcoming Fall semester by the April 1st deadline. To be eligible, applicants must enroll on a full-time basis for the year of the award. Full time status is considered 9 or more credits. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 grade point average each semester of the award. If a student accepts a graduate assistantship, the student is not eligible for any other University or Montclair State University Foundation scholarship which offers a financial award.
Award Amount: Saul and Adelaide Goldfarb Scholarship provides a one-time $4,000 tuition award for master's students and a one-time $5,000 tution award for doctoral students. Unused tuition dollars will be returned to the MSU foundation at the end of the award year.
Deadline: Scholarship application must be received at The Graduate School by April 1st to be considered for awards disbursed the following Fall.

Sokol Doctoral Fellowship
The College of Science and Mathematics
The award is to provide up to two fellowships to assist doctoral candidates in Chemistry or a closely allied field such as Physics or Biology (the acceptability of an allied field to be determined by the faculty of the Chemistry department). Until such time as Montclair State offers a doctoral program in chemistry, it shall provide these fellowships for its graduates who are candidates in such a program at Montclair State University or another college or university.
