Adjunct Research and Professional Development Fund

Professional development funding is available for eligible adjunct faculty to support research and professional growth. The University has allocated $10,000 annually to assist adjunct faculty who have completed at least four (4) semesters of employment and remain eligible to teach in the following semester.

These funds may be used for activities such as:

  • Conducting research for scholarly publications
  • Attending or presenting at regional or national conferences
  • Creating or completing artistic works

The application period is now open! Applications must be submitted online by:

  • Fall Semester Deadline: October 15 at 4:30pm
  • Spring Semester Deadline: February 15 at 4:30pm

A committee (with two individuals selected by Local 6025 and one individual selected by the University) will review applications based on the proposal’s alignment with the instructor’s professional development goals. Proposals will be evaluated based on the relevance of the proposed goals and outcomes to instructional responsibilities.

Funding decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

To be eligible for the program, you must:

  • Have completed four or more semesters of employment at Montclair State University as an adjunct
  • Be an active adjunct faculty member at the time of your application
