With more than 110,000 alumni living in all 50 states and worldwide, the Office of Alumni Relations at Montclair State University hosts events across the country to give alumni a chance to connect and network with others in their neighborhood. You already have one thing in common: Montclair State! It’s all about connections, and your connection to Montclair State University lasts as lifetime. As part of an ongoing initiative to create a network among Montclair State graduates in New Jersey, New York, Florida and the West Coast, our goal is to bring Montclair State engagement opportunities to these regions.
Past gatherings have been held in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, West Palm Beach, and in multiple locations in New Jersey including the Jersey Shore, Clifton, Jersey City, Morristown and Hoboken.
In the coming months, The Office of Alumni Relations will host alumni networking opportunities in Northern N.J., New York City, Los Angeles and Florida as part of Montclair State’s series of regional events and activities.
Coming up in August is the next Montclair State in Your Neighborhood event, which will be a networking opportunity at The Dubliner, a popular bar in Hoboken – the perfect place to spend a summer evening with fellow alumni! If you’re 21 or older, please join us for a fun and casual happy hour get-together at this great location that features a rooftop bar. Your first drink is free and complimentary appetizers will be served.
“The opportunity to reconnect with our peers in addition to networking with other alumni at the happy hour event in Hoboken is an incredible one,” says Sonal Chauhan ’13. “It allows us the chance to share the progress we’ve made in our careers that Montclair State had set us all up for during our time there – something that we are all grateful for and excited to share with one another!”
The Office of Alumni Relations will also be hosting events in Asbury Park, Morristown and Newark. Details are still being finalized but the Asbury Park event is tentatively scheduled for September. In Newark, look for an event at the Newark Museum as well as a second get-together at Prudential Center for a New Jersey Devils game in January.
As for the out-of-state events, the get-together in New York City is planned for December, Florida events will be in winter and spring, and Los Angeles in June. There may also be an event in Washington, D.C., so stay tuned!
