There are many ways to engage with Montclair State online. From recorded career events to lectures from faculty research, alumni can access all things Montclair State from the comfort of their homes or on their lunch breaks.

“In an effort to meet our alumni where they live – online – we have implemented a series of digital events to bring Montclair State to our alumni,” says Stacy Albanese, associate director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement.

The menu of digital engagement opportunities includes webinars about faculty research, career workshops, “adulting” and more.

“We’ve been able to partner with our colleagues across campus and record events in the College of Education and Human Services, Feliciano School of Business and College of Humanities and Social Sciences,” says Albanese. “The team at the School of Communication and Media has been instrumental in helping us record events and add to our library of recordings,” she adds.

The signature series of digital events is the DigitalU series. These talks highlight various areas across campus to promote key programs and educate alumni about a diverse array of initiatives happening at their alma mater. Faculty can share their research, staff can talk about new programs and alumni get to hear and see all about it at their convenience.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program with Dr. Daniel Jean, executive director of EOF, the Gender Wage Gap with Professor of Sociology Yasemin Besen-Cassino, the Norman Sicily Project with associate Professor Dawn Marie Hayes, and many more.

The series of webinars about real-life topics, coined the Adulting 101 series, was inspired by feedback from current students and recent alumni who expressed a need to learn more about life after college and how to tackle real-world topics such as finding a place to live, the job search, buying a car, establishing credit, student loans and other relevant topics.

Alumni can sign onto MONTCLAIRconnect, the exclusive online community. There, alumni can access recorded career workshops and webinars, sign up for Gmail for life and get an Alumni ID card.

In addition to these digital engagement opportunities, alumni can also support the University by making a gift through IMPACT Montclair State. This crowdfunding platform allows donors to support a specific project or donate to the area of campus that means the most to them.
