Stay at “Home”-coming Tailgate

Although we may not be together in person, let’s keep our school spirit soaring! Come back to your alma mater – online – for the alumni Stay at “Home”coming Tailgate. Sign up today to receive your alumni tailgate-in-a-box so that you can set the scene at your home for our Montclair State celebration. The full day begins at 10:00 a.m. and we will have prizes and photo albums going throughout the day!

At 1:30 p.m., sign on to the tailgate to kick off an afternoon of fun. Tour a local NJ alumni owned brewery, and for those under 21, we will have a fun coloring competition…and, no Homecoming would be complete without a sendoff from our favorite Red Hawk, Rocky!

“I’m so grateful to have an opportunity to safely connect with my alma mater for Homecoming this year,” says Michelle Shanahan ‘11, ‘14 MA. “Montclair State is doing so much to ensure that we get to show our support and school spirit from home, and I’m really excited for the virtual tailgate!  In these uncertain times, it is nice to have fun events to participate in from home, which allow me to remain connected to Montclair State as an alumna, and I am happy to continue to support the university. Go Red Hawks!”

“Homecoming is a special tradition that welcomes back our alumni community to celebrate all things Montclair State and show our Red Hawk pride”, says Jeanne Marano, assistant vice president of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement. This year, although we may not be together on campus, we wanted to provide opportunities to welcome back alumni from across the country to join in the celebration. Mark your calendar for October 24 and we hope to see you then!”

Advanced registration is required to receive your Alumni Tailgate-in-a-Box with some supplies to set up your personal tailgate. The box includes an MSU pennant and pom-poms to show your school spirit, family fun activities to play throughout the day, coloring competition entry and more! Be sure to send us pictures of your tailgate setup! Please confirm your current shipping address. Boxes will be shipped beginning October 1.

“My friends and I registered for this year’s virtual tailgate to continue our Homecoming tradition! I haven’t missed a year since graduating from Montclair State, and wasn’t planning on letting this year be any different,” says Joseph Bavazzano ’15. “It’s always a time to reconnect with friends from college, and while we may not all be in one place, I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to log in and catch up!”
