Welcome Bloomfield alumni to the Montclair State University online community! As members of the Montclair network, we invite you to join our online community exclusive to alumni – MONTCLAIRconnect. In the platform, you can: check out the Bloomfield College Alumni Network Group, access career resources and sign into Handshake, check out exclusive alumni discounts, create your very own alumni Gmail for Life email account, connect with fellow alumni and join networking groups, explore upcoming events, news and more.

Connect with Fellow Alumni
Search for alumni by industry, employer, major, location and more. Send messages and start networking today! Not sure what to write? The platform suggests message content for various types of messages including career exploration, expanding your network or even reconnecting.

Signing on is easy!
You should have received a special invitation to join via email with all the information you need to create your account. Another will be coming within the week. To create an account, you will be asked for a brief description of yourself, your current company and your industry of expertise. You can even upload your LinkedIn profile. The platform also allows you to specify your availability to meet with others, whether online or in person. Finally, there is an option to download a shortcut to your phone. Instructions are included in the invitation email.

View fellow group members’ profiles and send them a message to connect. Visit the Discussion Board to stay up to date on all things Bloomfield or to share your news. Check the Resources tab to view Bloomfield alumni profile articles, key news items, and to learn about perks and benefits available to alumni.

Access Career Resources and Sign into Bloomfield Handshake
Handshake is the job search platform for alumni, which includes positions across various industries. Visit the Resources tab in the MONTCLAIRconnect platform to view talks on various career topics by experts in the field including: how to ace phone and video interviews, delivering effective presentations at work, personal branding and more.

Discover Discounts for Alumni
Access exclusive alumni discounts on shopping, travel and entertainment. You can save on things like: amusement parks, sporting events, Broadway tickets, concerts, movie tickets, hotel and rental cars, Sam’s Club membership, meal services, streaming services, audiobooks, electronics and laptops, cell phones, tax prep, insurance, home security services, pet supplies and so much more!

Create Your Gmail for Life Account
Now you can have a free permanent email account that NEVER changes and is affiliated with Montclair State University! Sign onto MONTCLAIRconnect and go to the Resources tab to create a personalized alumni email account that you can use to send and receive emails!

With an @alumni.montclair.edu email account, you can: use your alumni email address as a fully-functional web-based email account and access your email from anywhere in the world via an Internet connection using Gmail; set your alumni email address to forward to another email account of your preference; send emails using your alumni address as the “from” address when managing emails from a personal account. Rest assured that your account will be managed with the reliability of Google services.

Join Networking Groups
In addition to the Bloomfield College Alumni Network group, you are welcome to join any of the open groups on the platform. This includes the Women’s Initiative Network, Recent Alumni Network, Black Alumni Advisory Council, Hispanic and Latinx/a/o Alumni Network and more!
