The Parents Council

The Montclair State University Parents Council is made up of proud parents and family members who provide leadership support for The Parents Fund and reach out to other parents to enlist their support. Our parent volunteers enjoy developing a connection with the University and with each other. Many members choose to stay active on the committee even after their children graduate.

Members of the Parents Council serve as ambassadors for the University in the following ways:

  • Support The Parents Fund with a minimum leadership gift of $100.
  • Educate fellow parents about the importance of philanthropic support.
  • Engage and connect with other parents to help build relationships between parents and the University.
  • Attend Council meetings and focus groups as parent representatives to discuss funding designation and other initiatives.
  • Assist the Office of Annual Giving with the cultivation and solicitation of fellow parents on behalf of The Parents Fund.
  • Attend Council events and activities during Homecoming and Family Day, including the Family Pancake Breakfast for first-year students.
  • Volunteer for Council events and programs.
