Kim Wales is the Founder and CEO of Wales Capital and CrowdBureau.

Wales Capital is a leading strategy, risk management, and regulatory compliance – consulting firm focusing primarily on policy reform such as the JOBS Act (equity/ debt based securities crowdfunding) across the financial services, real estate, consumer product and IT industries.

CrowdBureau provides an unbiased and transparent view into P2P Lending and small-medium enterprise (SME) and emerging growth company (EGC) market analysis, ratings, research, and portfolio tools. The firm serves investors, emerging growth businesses and platforms by providing a centralized hub for real-time private public securities.

Ms. Wales was appointed as an Adjunct Professor in Economics – “Entrepreneurship: Women & Diversity” at The Zahn Innovation Center at the City College (CUNY) for the Fall Semester 2015. An invited member of Clinton Global Initiative (2015), Ms. Wales is a Founding and Executive Board Member of Crowdfunding Intermediary Regulatory Advocates and also holds several board positions at privately held companies.

A former banking consultant, Ms. Wales serves as a change agent, lobbyist and advocate and is recognized as one of the countries thought leaders on the JOBS Act and securities based crowdfunding. She has advised and influenced decision-making through written recommendation letters and ongoing in-person meetings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, European Commission [Building a Capital Markets Union green paper], the Ontario Securities Commission, Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission, Australian Stock Exchange and other state and federal government agencies as related to equity and debt based crowdfunding.

She has been quoted in media including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, Smart CEO, Business Week, Fast Company, The Deal, Black Enterprise and featured on Bloomberg-TV. She is a frequent invited speaker at global events.
