Montclair State University is launching its third AI Showcase, an opportunity for faculty and staff to highlight the creative, practical, and strategic ways we are using artificial intelligence in teaching, research, student support, and administrative practice.
This event is cosponsored by the Office for Faculty Excellence (OFE), ADP Center, Center for Teaching and Academic Innovation (CTAI), University Libraries, the University AI Working Group, the Montclair AI Hub, and the School of Computing.
When: Friday, February 27, from 9-4
Where: In person, ADP Center, University Hall
Come share ideas and learn about work with AI in the teaching, in research, and in higher education. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
We invite proposals from staff and faculty for brief talks, demonstrations, and panel ideas that illuminate how AI is helping us do our university work better! The showcase is a great opportunity to learn, connect with colleagues across divisions, and showcase your adventures in AI.
Some questions to consider:
How does AI expand access?
How does AI improve and streamline our business processes?
How does AI further research?
How does AI strengthen student learning?
Please use this link to submit a proposal, including an abstract of 150-200 words, by January 27; participants will be notified by February 2.
We invite proposals on topics within the areas of AI and Teaching, AI and Research, or AI Use in Higher Education. Here are a few examples:
- How are you using AI to improve your work or the work of your unit?
- How are you using AI to facilitate student success or improve the student and experiences?
- How are you working with AI in teaching and learning?
- How are you using AI to facilitate your research?
- What might you want to share about your research on AI?
Possible formats:
- 10-minute presentation
- Pre-formed panel (~3 presenters and moderator)
