Faculty sometimes need a student or a staff member to borrow items or pickup holds on their behalf. For example, a graduate assistant may need to checkout books for a faculty member. This can be done through the use of proxy accounts:
- Proxy accounts create a link between the primary library account (the faculty member’s account) and its proxy (the student or staff member).
- The proxy account can be set to expire on a designated date or can be canceled at any time at the request of the faculty member.
- The faculty member is still responsible for all late or lost items on their account.
To setup a proxy account, complete and submit the Proxy Request Form.
