Montclair State University has contracted with Sierra-Cedar to implement Workday, a best-in-class, cloud-based Human Capital Management system that will improve the delivery of services to students, faculty and staff across campus.
The Delaware-based Sierra-Cedar has a wide range of experience in higher education, completing over 1,500 projects with more than 350 colleges and universities. In addition, Sierra-Cedar is the only Workday partner to develop industry models of Workday configuration.
The implementation at Montclair State is part of the OneMontclair program, a campus-wide initiative to update the University’s business systems, integrate and streamline processes, and improve the overall customer experience.
Workday at Montclair State will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 will include Core Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time-Tracking and Absence Management. The schedule go-live date is January 2016.
Recruitment, Talent Management and Succession Planning will be part of Phase 2, with an expected go-live target of October 2016.

Workday boasts the highest security standards and compliance with data privacy laws. According to the website, safeguards and regulation updates are built into every Workday release.
