R.I.S.E. Mentorship Program

The R.I.S.E. Mentorship Program provides University High School freshmen students with academic support, leadership development, communal orientation, and college readiness. RISE mentors consist of Montclair State’s upperclassmen students and pairs them with high school freshman students attending University High School. The impact of the R.I.S.E. mentors will create a community of scholars that will change the climate of Newark and Montclair itself.

About the R.I.S.E Program

The structure of the R.I.S.E program is broken down by the 4 pillars of RISE. Responsibility, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. In order to fully capture the meaning of each pillar they are broken down into subcategories for mentors to engage with the mentees. (Ex. Excellence is further broken down as “Professionalism & Life Skills”)
