Cooking with Koppell: Candidates Edition
A Fresh Take on New Jersey’s Gubernatorial Race
This election season, Cooking with Koppell: Candidates Edition offers a personal look at the major candidates in New Jersey’s governor’s race.
In this special series, candidates join Montclair State University President Jonathan Koppell in the kitchen to cook a dish that reflects their roots, family traditions and connection to the Garden State. As they chop and stir, they’ll share their personal and professional journeys, what drives them to public service, and their vision for New Jersey’s future. Viewers will get a different perspective — beyond debates and campaign speeches — before heading to the polls for the June 2025 primary.

Filmed at the University’s Loft Studio, the professionally produced series features student involvement and will be streamed on Hawk+ and YouTube.
