2019 Open Enrollment
The State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) Open Enrollment period for employees begins on October 1, 2018, and ends on October 31, 2018.
Open Enrollment is your opportunity to revise your health, dental, and flexible spending account. All changes made during Open Enrollment will be effective January 1, 2019.
If you are satisfied with your current medical and dental benefit plans your elections will roll-over and no action is required. However, it is good practice to review your current elections, beneficiary information and confirm your address in workday to ensure they are up to date.
Please note: Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) using pre-tax dollars must be renewed annually.
Open Enrollment Forms:
Open Enrollment forms must be completed and submitted to the Benefits Office no later than October 31, 2018. You can return your Open Enrollment forms and required documentation via:
- Workday: Starting Friday, October 5 - log into Workday to complete your Open Enrollment Change task. There will be instructions, in workday, to help you navigate the process. If you are satisfied with your current benefits, no action is required .
- On-Campus Location: The Human Resources satellite office is located at Schmitt Hall, Room 320. There will be with a representative to assist uploading documents to Workday, and answering Open Enrollment questions. The on-campus office will be open from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, from October 1, 2018 - October 31, 2018.
After October 31, 2018, you can only make coverage changes if you have a qualifying life event. Please consider your choices carefully as changes and corrections are only permitted during Open Enrollment or within 60 days of a qualifying event (i.e. getting married or having a baby).

Tax$ave Flexible Spending Account:
Employees' Tax Savings Program, Tax$ave, lets you set aside before-tax dollars to pay for certain medical, dental, and dependent care costs. See our fact sheet Tax$ave, for details about eligibility.
You must re-enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) each plan year to participate, plans do not renew automatically.

In an effort to address your needs as best as possible, we request that you call or email in advance to schedule an appointment. Making an appointment with the appropriate person in Human Resources will ensure availability and assure that your time is well used.
As a reminder, there are shuttles available to Overlook, from campus. If you drive, free parking is available in the parking garage in unreserved spaces. Take the parking elevator to the lobby. All visitors, including MSU employees, must sign in at the Overlook lobby floor security desk before coming to the third floor.
Keep in mind that many questions can be answered via email, with a phone call or a visit to our website.

Overlook Shuttle Service
Shuttle service to Overlook is available Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm. The shuttle leaves from Red Hawk Deck at the top and bottom of the hour (7:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., etc.) From there, the shuttle travels to University Hall, and then Overlook.
Shuttles from Overlook back to campus leave approximately 10 minutes after the half-hour (i.e. 7:40 a.m., 8:10 a.m., 8:40 a.m., etc) so plan to arrive at the Overlook shuttle pick-up point then. Overlook Shuttle Pick Up Location: Pick up and drop off will be at the Atrium entrance
