Instructional Design Services

ITDS provides instructional design services for faculty teaching across all educational delivery modalities at Montclair State University. Instructional designers support faculty with pedagogical and technological considerations which arise throughout the course design process, from initial course mapping and curriculum design to course management throughout the semester. Instructional Technology

ITDS supports a significant portion of the Instructional Technologies used to to facilitate teaching and learning on campus and online, including the university’s Learning Management System, Canvas. Faculty are welcome to join us for workshops and one-on-one consultations to learn more about these tools and the instructional strategies that can be used in conjunction with them.

Our team offers many faculty development opportunities year-round to support teaching and learning. These include workshops, online courses emphasizing pedagogical approaches, our annual conferences, and many special events. For faculty new to Canvas, visit our Montclair State Canvas Faculty Orientation or register for our workshops. You can also schedule a one-on-one appointment with a member of the ITDS team.

About Us

Instructional Technology and Design Services (ITDS), a subdivision of Academic Affairs, is comprised of Instructional Designers, Technology Training Specialists, Instructional Technologists, and Multimedia Specialists. The ITDS team is committed to providing educational technology and instructional design support and services to the University community. We achieve this through technology workshops, faculty development programs and initiatives, and course design practices. We strive to cultivate and promote collaborative, inclusive and innovative educational experiences to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
