In HIST118: Emergence of the Modern United States, Professor Strickland collaborated with ITDS to develop a standardized course template that was to be made readily available to adjuncts within the History department. Adopting an “Opt-In” modality, Professor Strickland utilized Canvas Commons to share and distribute a ready-made course shell to any and all faculty. The course template can be updated and new versions can be rolled out onto Commons, notifying faculty that there may be a newer version available to import.
What is Canvas Commons? Commons is a learning object repository that enables faculty (and staff) to find, import, and share resources online. As a digital library full of educational content, Commons allows our users to share learning resources with each other as well as import learning resources into a Canvas course.
