Global Reach Task Force

The Global Reach Task Force (GRTF) was established in October 2022 to develop a strategic and intentional approach to internationalization at Montclair State University. Co-chaired by Dr. Ethné Swartz and Dr. Carlos Molina, the GRTF aimed to enhance the university’s global engagement through diverse collaborations, student mobility, and international research. It produced a final report in Fall 2024.

Key Recommendations

  1. Establish an International Advisory Committee to oversee international initiatives and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  2. Enhance faculty engagement in global research through targeted support and funding.
  3. Expand study abroad opportunities and accessibility for a diverse student body.
  4. Develop strategic partnerships with institutions in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
  5. Implement data-driven tracking systems to assess internationalization efforts and measure impact.

The GRTF’s recommendations were accepted by the Office of the Provost, and the IAC was formed in 2024 to spearhead their implementation.
