Employee Newsletter Update: New Name, Same Purpose
The In the Know: Weekly Events Digest has a new name — it is now called Before You Go. This newsletter will continue to serve as a planning guide to campus events and activities that faculty and staff may want to participate in.
- Employee Newsletter Schedule
- In The Know (general newsletter) is sent each Friday at 8:30 a.m.
- Before You Go (events newsletter) is sent each Monday at 8:30 a.m.
- Schedules may shift for University holidays and during the summer.
- Submission Guidelines
- Submissions for both newsletters are due by Wednesday to be considered for inclusion in that week’s edition.
- To maximize awareness, we recommend promoting events at least 2-3 weeks in advance.

Yogi’s Big Catch Challenge – Calling all faculty, staff, family and friends!

Come be a part of history on Sunday, September 21 at YOGI’S BIG CATCH CHALLENGE, an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORD’s attempt for the Largest Game of Catch ever…right here on campus! We need at least 973 pairs — 1,946 players — to play catch simultaneously for five minutes to break the record, but we’re hoping for many more! Register today to secure your spot. Baseball gloves will be supplied for participants.
The event will include:
- Exclusive Yogi’s Big Catch T-shirts
- Topps baseball cards and Rawlings commemorative baseballs
- FREE museum tours and a rare chance to take a photo with Yogi’s actual Hall of Fame plaque—here for ONE day only from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY!

Bloomfield Campus Shuttle Service
During the Fall and Spring semesters, Bloomfield shuttle service operates Monday through Friday, between 225 Liberty Street in Bloomfield,NJ, University Hall and the Red Hawk Deck on the Montclair campus.
Shuttle Times are as follows:
- 7–9 a.m.: every 30 minutes (week days only)
- 9 a.m.–3 p.m.: every hour
- 3–7 p.m.: every 30 minutes
- 7–11 p.m.: every hour

Homecoming Street Fair
Secure your spot for your department or organization at the Homecoming Street Fair! The street fair will take place from 12-4 p.m. on Chapin Drive and participants must stay for the duration of the event. The last day to register for a table is Monday, September 8.
