Participate in our “Where You Are” Campaign
Montclair is celebrating the flexibility of our programs — on campus, online and beyond! The red chairs symbolize Montclair’s welcoming and supportive spirit, available to anyone, from anywhere. Members of the University Communications and Marketing team will be on Montclair’s Campus Wednesday, September 24 for a Red Chair Pop-Up Activation. Stop by between 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., take a photo and share how you take #MontclairAnywhere. Please encourage your students to stop by as well!

Yogi’s Big Catch Challenge – Calling all faculty, staff, family and friends!

Come be a part of history on Sunday, September 21 at YOGI’S BIG CATCH CHALLENGE, an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORD’s attempt for the Largest Game of Catch ever…right here on campus! We need at least 973 pairs — 1,946 players — to play catch simultaneously for five minutes to break the record, but we’re hoping for many more! Register today to secure your spot. Baseball gloves will be supplied for participants.
The event will include:
- Exclusive Yogi’s Big Catch T-shirts
- Topps baseball cards and Rawlings commemorative baseballs
- FREE museum tours and a rare chance to take a photo with Yogi’s actual Hall of Fame plaque—here for ONE day only from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY!
- Food trucks, a DJ, photo booth and so much more!

Bloomfield Campus Shuttle Service
During the Fall and Spring semesters, Bloomfield shuttle service operates Monday through Friday, between 225 Liberty Street in Bloomfield,NJ, University Hall and the Red Hawk Deck on the Montclair campus.
Shuttle Times are as follows:
- 7–9 a.m.: every 30 minutes (week days only)
- 9 a.m.–3 p.m.: every hour
- 3–7 p.m.: every 30 minutes
- 7–11 p.m.: every hour

University Social Media Engagement and Support Poll
University Communications and Marketing is collecting feedback to better understand social media engagement and support across the University. This survey is for individuals who oversee or create content for any social media accounts on both Montclair and Bloomfield campuses. Your input will help shape future resources, meetings and strategic planning. The survey should take about five minutes.

- Jason Williams (Justice Studies) is quoted in this NJ Spotlight News article about body-cam recordings that show a fatal New Brunswick police shooting; the article and quote were included in POLITICO’s New Jersey Playbook newsletter. Williams is also quoted in an article published by The Jersey Vindicator about a Bergen County corrections officer who left a loaded gun in a Jeep following an alleged drunken accident.

- To the 90 volunteers across the University who sat at an ‘Ask Me Booth’ this year. This year 4,155 questions were asked and answered across the first 5 days of classes!
- To The Office of Health Promotion for being awarded a $19,979 grant from the Truth Initiative, a national nonprofit public health organization dedicated to preventing youth and young adult nicotine addiction and supporting quitting efforts.
- To Minkyung Choi (Teaching and Learning), whose project, Teaching AAPI History with Impact: A Curriculum Design Intensive, was funded by the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Eastern Region.
- To Angela Grotto (Management), whose co-authored article, “If You Take Care of Me, I’ll Take Care of You: The Mutual Gains of Parental Support for Employee and Organizational Well-Being,” was published in the Journal of Management and Organization.
- To Jessica Bacon (Teaching and Learning), who recently visited the University of Graz in Austria to engage in international dialogue on inclusive education.
