The Department of Art and Design Welcomes Seth Howard
Welcoming one of the newest faculty members in Fashion Design and Merchandising program

The Department of Art & Design is pleased to welcome Seth Howard as a new Assistant Teaching Professor in the BA in Fashion Design and Merchandising program at Montclair State University.
Seth joins Montclair State University from Western Kentucky University, where he most recently served as a Full-time Instructor of Fashion Design and Merchandising and was honored with the 2023–2024 University Excellence in Teaching Award.
He holds an MBA from Western Kentucky University, a Master’s in Global Fashion Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and a BFA in Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
Before transitioning to academia in 2020, Seth built a distinguished 20-year career in the fashion industry. He began as a celebrity stylist and fashion editor for top men’s magazines, later moving into marketing and brand strategy. As Marketing Director, Brand + Trend for Randa Accessories, the largest global manufacturer of men’s accessories, he played a pivotal role in shaping brand identity and consumer engagement.
Now in the classroom, Seth brings this wealth of experience directly to his students. He is committed to leveraging his extensive professional network to enrich learning opportunities and connect students with leading figures in the fashion industry.
Seth shared, “I’m very excited to be managing the annual fashion show and to be able to bring my years of styling and production experience to that platform. And dually excited to leverage my professional network to enhance students’ experiences.”
