The Department of Art and Design is excited to announce the opening of the Fashion Illustration and Digital Applications Exhibition. Students’ work will be on view at the Finley Gallery from February 5 through February 19 with the opening reception on Wednesday, February 11 from 2pm-4pm.

This exhibition features original design illustrations and presentation layouts from courses in the Fashion Design and Merchandising program, including Fashion Illustration, Digital Applications for Fashion, Flat Pattern, and Draping.

Students design, create, develop, and prepare 2D original visuals that can become 3D professionally executed looks. The fashion design students develop original illustrations to demonstrate their extensive design knowledge by using programs Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop in tandem with traditional illustration and rendering techniques by hand.

Each work selected depicts the range of creative possibilities utilizing the process of fashion design. From the initial steps of conception to a sketch, from an illustration to brand & product development, and finally garment construction, students showcase their creative voices as the emerging talent and future of the fashion apparel industry.

Come view and support the work of Fashion’s next generation of designers and creatives!
