Women Entrepreneurship Week began as an idea in a cubicle at Montclair State in spring 2014. The first WEW events were held in 2014, when four north Jersey universities participated. By October 2017, WEW had grown into an international, national and statewide celebration.
In 2019, when we were able to gather in-person, we had 230+ universities and colleges in 32 countries and 47 states in the U.S. holding events on their respective campuses to celebrate and motivate female founders. Check out our video highlighting some of partners who participated.
In 2020, just like the rest of the world, we went virtual. We pivoted to create over 30 interviews with female founders. We had some amazing discussions with innovative female entrepreneurs like Tiffany Aliche, Founder of The Budgetnista and Denise Woodard, Founder of Partake Foods.
