Guidance for Summer terms starting May 11 (sessions A, B, D):
In addition to Canvas, you have the following resources to further clear communication.
Syllabi:
- You and your students have access to your Montclair Syllabus outside of Canvas.
- If you have not already done so, complete your syllabus and publish it (hit “submit” at the bottom of the screen). When you hit “submit” you will also get a pop-up with sharing links. Use one of these in your communications with students (see below for email strategies).
To email your entire class: use Navigate or Banner Self-Service.
Through NEST/Navigate:
Log onto NEST > Navigate > under Students In My Courses > select Term. Click the box on the top left above the list of your students’ names to select all. Under the “Actions” dropdown menu: choose “Send Message.” A dialog box will appear for you to write your message. Documents and other attachments may be added to the message.
Note: You may also email individual students through Navigate by selecting the box next to their name.
Navigate users with Multiple Roles (e.g., Professor and Advisor): If you have multiple roles, select “Professor Home” at the top of your Navigate homepage to locate your class rosters.
Through NEST/Banner Self Service:
Log onto NEST > Banner Self-Service > Faculty/Advisor Services > Summary Class List > choose Term > select Course > at bottom, click “Email class” and choose a native mail option such as Outlook or Apple Mail. If logged in, email addresses should populate within the mail program.
