Montclair State University Funds Study Abroad

Montclair State University has awarded 17 scholarships to students studying abroad in Academic Year, Fall, and Summer 2018 terms. Congratulations to all of our Scholarship and Award recipients!

Montclair-Graz Sister City Scholarship

Madeline Meier and Taylor Bayes have been awarded the Montclair-Graz Sister City Scholarship to study for the Academic Year 2018-2019.

Taylor Bayes

Taylor Bayes is one of two recipients of the Montclair-Graz Sister City Scholarship to study abroad in Graz, Austria for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. She is a senior at Montclair, majoring in Music and German. She will be studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.

Madeline Meier

Madeline Meier is a Sophomore Music major with a minor in French. She is also a recipient of the Montclair-Graz Sister City Scholarship. She will be studying in Graz, Austria at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.

Foundation Scholarships

Montclair State University has awarded six Foundation Scholarships to support students studying abroad in Academic Year, Fall, and Summer 2018 terms.

Alondra Martinez

Alondra Martinez was chosen as a recipient of the Peter Balsamo Scholarship for students studying language abroad. She is an undergraduate Family Science and Human Development major and Spanish Minor. She will be studying in Madrid, Spain at Nebrija University for the Fall 2018 term.

Emma Rush

Emma Rush was chosen as a recipient of the Peter Balsamo Scholarship for students studying language abroad. She is a Senior Justice Studies and Italian major with a minor in Environmental Justice. In addition to the Peter Balsamo Scholarship, she has also won the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund Award for Italian Studies for Study Abroad in Perugia, Italy. She will be participating in the faculty-led Program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language for the Summer 2018 term.

Erica Morales

Erica Morales was chosen as a recipient of the Harold S. Sloan Trust Award for students in Social Sciences. She is a senior at Montclair with a major in Linguistics and a minor in Spanish. She will be studying in Madrid, Spain at Nebrija University for the Fall 2018 term.

Gabriela Campbell

Gabriela Campbell was chosen as a recipient for the Dugan Scholarship for students studying on exchange programs. She is an undergraduate majoring in Political Science and French and minoring in Economics. She will be studying in Bordeaux, France at Bordeaux Montaigne University for the 2018-2019 Academic year. She will also be studying in Nice, France during the Summer 2018 term while on the faculty-led Program: Summer in Nice, France 2018: France and the French.

Emily Ip

Emily Ip was chosen as a recipient of the Anistra Magistro Udell Scholarship for language majors. She is an undergraduate Spanish major and Music minor studying in Salamanca, Spain at Universidad de Salamanca for the Fall 2018 term

 

Helen-Marie Larson

Helen-Marie Larson was chosen as a recipient for the Anistra Magistro Udell Scholarship for language majors. She is an undergraduate French and Arabic Translation major and Chinese minor studying in Bordeaux, France at Bordeaux Montaigne University for the 2018-2019 Academic year.

Study Abroad Program Scholarships

Montclair State students have earned scholarships with their study abroad programs to help fund their experiences abroad.

Sarah Shelley<

Sarah Shelley was chosen as a recipient of the ISA Host University Scholarship. She is an undergraduate History major and Archaeology minor studying in Seoul, South Korea at Korea University for the Summer 2018 term.

Rachel Fritz

Rachel Fritz was chosen as a recipient of the Erasmus+ Scholarship for CSAM students. She is an undergraduate major in Sustainability Science studying in Graz, Austria at Karl Franzens University of Graz for the Fall 2018 term. She will be earning credits for her Master’s degree while abroad.

Mohamad Abboud

Mohamad Abboud was chosen as a recipient of the Erasmus+ Scholarship for CSAM students. He is an undergraduate major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and will be studying in Graz, Austria at Karl Franzens University of Graz for the Spring 2019 term.

Italian Studies Study Abroad Awards

The Italian Department offers several scholarships and awards for Italian majors and minors to study abroad. The Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America and the Italian Department annually host an Italian Scholarship and Awards Ceremony for awarded students. More information about the ceremony held in honor of some of our study abroad students can be found here. All of the following students will be spending the summer at The Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy while participating in the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.

Talia Antonacci

Talia Antonacci won the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies for Study Abroad in Perugia, Italy. She is a junior majoring in Italian and minoring in Business. She will be spending the Summer abroad at Perugia, Italy on the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.

Savannah Beyer

Savannah Beyer won the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies for Study Abroad in Perugia, Italy. She is a freshman majoring in Communications and Media Arts. She will be spending the Summer abroad at Perugia, Italy on the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.

Oscar Guevara-Perez

Oscar Guevara-Perez won both the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies and the Barbara Carbon Memorial Scholarship to fund his Study Abroad program in Perugia, Italy. Oscar is a senior at Montclair and majors in both Italian and Spanish. He will be spending the summer abroad at Perugia, Italy on the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.

Christina Pari

Christina Pari won both the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies and Passaic Valley UNICO Chapter Italian Studies Award to study abroad in Perugia, Italy. She has also won the Italian American Club of Four Seasons of Great Notch Student Achievement Award. She is a junior with a major in Italian and a minor in Business. Federica Piccitto

Federica Piccitto won the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies for Study Abroad in Perugia, Italy. She is a freshman majoring in Italian. She will be spending the summer abroad at Perugia, Italy on the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.

Brittany Savill

Brittany Savill won the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies for Study Abroad in Perugia, Italy. She is a junior majoring in Italian and minoring in Business. She will be spending the summer abroad at Perugia, Italy on the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.

Natalie Yavorski

Natalie Yavorski won the Angelo and Mary Cali Fund for Italian Studies for Study Abroad in Perugia, Italy. She is a Senior majoring in Fine Arts and minoring in Italian. She will be spending the summer abroad at Perugia, Italy on the faculty-led program “Made in Italy” Marketing, Media, and Language.
