Pell Grant

Because of the Pell Grant extension, you can ‘Finish What You Started Quicker!’

What does this mean?

New Federal government regulations make it possible for you to complete your degree faster! Beginning in the summer of 2010, you may receive a summer Pell grant, even if you have already used your full Pell grant for the fall 2009 and spring 2010 terms. For the first time, you may receive more than 100% of the Pell grant in one academic year.

How do I qualify?

  • Be Pell eligible for 2009-2010
  • Be seeking an undergraduate degree at Montclair State University
  • Be enrolled in six (6) or more credit hours toward your degree for the summer 2010 term.
  • Be making Standards of Academic progress (SAP)

How do I know if I am eligible?

If you received a Pell grant for this year, and you are enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours for the summer term, and you have met all of the guidelines outlined above, you are eligible to receive another Pell award based on your enrolled hours. Complete the summer application form and submit to the financial aid office.

We advise for the 2010-2011 academic year, that you complete your FASFA as soon as possible.
