About the Hispanic Student College Institute
The Hispanic Student College Institute emphasizes the University’s commitment to creating life-changing educational opportunities for all students. Montclair is New Jersey’s largest Hispanic-Serving Institution, a federal designation that identifies close to 600 colleges and universities where at least a quarter of their undergraduate populations are Hispanic.
This is a premier pre-college summer program focused on college readiness. The Hispanic Student College Institute is a four-day immersive experience that includes on-campus housing and meals, providing students with non-credit workshops and activities to master the transition to higher education.
This free program:
- Builds confidence and college readiness by helping you understand how to explore colleges, apply successfully, and plan for your academic future.
- Introduces you to potential majors and careers.
- Helps you become familiar with the admissions and financial aid processes.
- Strengthens your transition from high school to college.
- Welcomes families into the experience, allowing them to learn the ins and outs of admissions alongside their students so they can make informed decisions together.
- Accepts applications from all eligible students.
