You Belong at Montclair
Montclair is alive with students from every background, experience and identity, all shaping the community we’re proud to call home.
Come as you are — you belong here.
A Community That Reflects You
Montclair is one of New Jersey’s most diverse universities and a proud Hispanic-Serving Institution — with 40% of our students being the first in their families to attend college.
Support for Every Student
We offer resources for LGBTQ+ students, DACA recipients, international students and students from every cultural and ethnic background.
With multicultural clubs, gender-inclusive Greek organizations and communities rooted in Black, Latino, international and other cultural traditions, you’ll always find a space that celebrates who you are.
Be Exactly Who You Are
At Montclair, your identity isn’t just accepted — it’s celebrated. Whoever you are and wherever you come from, this is a place where you belong.
Office of Student Belonging
The Office of Student Belonging is dedicated to creating a campus where every student feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to thrive. From first-year and transfer students to first-generation, international, military-affiliated students, and those involved in cultural or community groups, this office works to ensure you and all students feel seen and valued.
Through cohort-based programming, advocacy, and access to essential resources, the Office of Student Belonging helps you build connections and navigate campus with confidence. Support extends beyond programming — including access to the Red Hawk Pantry, Montclair’s on-campus food pantry, and Rocky’s Closet, which provides free professional clothing for job interviews — so every student has what they need to succeed, both inside and outside the classroom.
