Food & Meal Support
To combat the reality and struggle of food insecurity for our community, the Red Hawk Pantry is an on-campus resource open to all Montclair State University students, faculty and staff. Available pantry items include groceries, health and personal care / hygiene products, and other essential supplies to support your day-to-day needs. Students can also take part in programs like the Food Champion Program, which shares leftover food from catered campus events — helping to reduce waste while expanding access to meals. Additionally, the Swipe Out Hunger program allows Montclair students enrolled in a dining block meal plan to donate up to two Block Swipes per semester from their plan to support other students struggling with food insecurity.
Clothing & Professional Attire
Rocky’s Closet is an initiative to provide students with free professional clothing for interviews, internships and jobs. We know dressing for the job you want is easier said than done, especially if you don’t have the proper attire and can’t afford to buy it. Montclair students, faculty or staff members can make an appointment to stop by Rocky’s Closet and take as much as they need — available items include blazers, dress pants and shirts, dress shoes, ties and belts. It’s one more way to help you feel confident and prepared for your next big move!
Emergency & Essential Services
Unexpected situations happen — but you’re not alone. Through support from the Dean of Students Office, students can access guidance and get connected to resources such as housing support, counseling, health services, and other essential programs that support their well-being.
You’re Not Alone
Asking for help can feel overwhelming, but at Montclair, it’s encouraged. Our community is built on support, and there are people ready to guide you every step of the way.
Whether you’re facing a temporary challenge or just need a little extra support, you’ll find resources and a community that’s here for you.
