As a graduate, you will be well prepared for a career as physical education specialist, fitness instructor, PE instructor or community health educator. You may also pursue graduate programs in exercise science, kinesiology or health education. With Montclair’s supportive faculty and hands-on learning opportunities, you’ll be ready to inspire lifelong health and wellness in diverse communities.

The General Concentration of this program includes all the classes you need to prepare to get your NJ state teacher’s certification and become a PE teacher in elementary, middle and high school.

The Physical Activity in Educational Settings concentration provides a comprehensive background in health and physical education without requiring the teacher certification sequence.

Students gain expertise in both the theory and practice of physical education while completing required general education courses. Students may also use this concentration as preparation to later apply for Teacher Certification in Health and Physical Education (P-12).
