Biography

Danielle Ferland has been performing professionally since the age of 10. Broadway: All My Sons, A Year with Frog and Toad, The Crucible and A Little Hotel on the Side (National Actors Theatre), A Little Night Music (City Opera), Into the Woods (original cast, Theatre World Award and Drama Desk nomination), Sunday in the Park with George (original). Off-Broadway: The Lights Are On (New Light Theater Project), New Girl in Town (Irish Rep), She Stoops to Conquer (Irish Rep), Engaged (Theatre for a New Audience), Tartuffe (New York Shakespeare Festival), How I Learned to Drive (Century Theater), Uncommon Women and Others (Second Stage). 

Favorite regional:  Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (Baltimore Center Stage and Westport Country Playhouse), The School for Husbands (Westport), Short Plays by Thornton Wilder (Baltimore Center Stage), Paramour (Old Globe), Night Governess (McCarter Theater).

Notable film: Tick Tick…Boom! (Netflix), Estelle in The Normal Heart (HBO), Mighty Aphrodite, Radio Days. TV: Alaska Daily, Orange is the New Black (recurring), Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, The OA, Jessica Jones (recurring), Law and Order SVU, and Inside Amy Schumer. 

Danielle has been a theater educator for children and adults since 2016, specializing in acting for theater, television and film, song interpretation, and audition and college prep. She coaches through her own private studio, and has been on the teaching staff at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown NJ since the fall of 2020, where she has also directed several student productions. She has served as guest instructor at various theater companies, universities and high schools throughout the Northeast, including Syracuse University, Black Box PAC (Englewood, NJ), Columbia High School (Maplewood NJ), and Boston Children’s Theater. 

As director: Cabaret and A Year with Frog and Toad (Boston Children’s Theater), the original play Castles in the Air (workshop and readings, Black Box PAC, others), and various readings of both plays and musicals. 

Danielle’s one woman show Sing For Your Ghosts premiered at NYC’S The Green Room 42 in 2023. It is still in development with plans for another production in the near future.
