Biography
Heather Zises is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Art and Design, where she teaches Professional Practices in Art and Contemporary Art History. An experienced editor and writer, she is recognized for her expertise in digital content development and social media strategy. She is also the author of the multi-award-winning book 50 Contemporary Women Artists (Schiffer, 2018), available nationwide at leading art institutions, university libraries, and art hotels. Heather is the founder of Avril Media Group, a strategic communications company specializing in content development, public relations, and art marketing. Her professional background includes key roles at renowned art organizations such as Pace Gallery and Phillips, where she curated numerous exhibitions and site-specific installations across galleries, art fairs, and alternative spaces. She holds a BA in English from Cornell University and an MA in Art History and Connoisseurship from Christie’s Education.
