Biography

Jamie Stec is a Business School Professor, entrepreneur, and innovation mentor who built her career by embracing bold pivots. She began as a features reporter for the New York Daily News, later working in magazines and public relations before moving into corporate communications. There, she led internal communication strategies for Fortune 500 companies, focusing on employee engagement, change management, and leadership communication.

At 25, Jamie began teaching part-time and quickly realized that education (and mentoring others) was her true calling. After leaving the corporate world, she made the leap into academia full time. Her entrepreneurial journey began in graduate school when she won a pitch competition and filed a patent for a novel product design. Today, she runs a small food business and mentors students, startups, and organizations through market exploration, innovation strategy, and growth planning. Jamie is passionate about helping others challenge assumptions, clarify their vision, and turn ideas into action.
