Biography
Lora Billings is Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics. She is an applied mathematician with specialization in the analysis of dynamical systems and chaos. She is a full professor and currently the editor-in-chief of the SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems. From 2014-2017, she served as a program director in the Division of Mathematical Sciences at the National Science Foundation. In 2018, she was appointed Dean of the College. Dr. Billings strives to create a support and mentoring services to increase student success. She is a strong advocate for STEM and received the Association for Women in Science Zenith Award in 2024.
Dr. Billings holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a B.S. in Mathematics from Lafayette College. She was awarded the Montclair State Distinguished Research Award in 2008.
