Marina Kamenetskiy, M.S.
Academic Advisor, School of Nursing

Marina Kamenetskiy is an Academic Advisor in the School of Nursing at Montclair State University, where she is dedicated to helping students navigate the challenges and rewards of becoming future nurses. She believes academic advising is about building meaningful relationships, fostering confidence, and empowering students to reach their full potential.

Marina works primarily with undergraduate nursing students, providing individualized guidance from orientation through graduation. She partners with students as they navigate academic requirements, overcome obstacles, and prepare for successful careers. Through proactive advising and close collaboration with faculty and campus resources, she strives to create an environment where every student feels supported, empowered, and connected.

Known for her approachable and student-centered advising style, Marina values open communication and meeting students where they are. She is committed to helping students develop the skills, self-assurance, and resilience needed to thrive in one of the nation's most demanding academic programs.

Marina earned her Master of Science degree in Forensic Psychology and takes pride in watching students grow from enthusiastic first-year students into compassionate, capable healthcare professionals. Her professional interests include first-year student transition, student retention, holistic advising, and fostering inclusive learning communities that promote student success and well-being.

Outside of advising, Marina enjoys spending time with her family, tackling home design projects, and finding creative ways to bring organization and beauty into everyday life. She finds the greatest reward in watching students discover their strengths, achieve their goals, and begin meaningful careers in nursing.
