Biography
Dr. Werner-Wilson began serving as Dean of the College for Community Health at Montclair State University on June 1, 2025.
After a national search, he was named Dean of the College of Human Sciences and Education at North Dakota State University in June, 2022. Following a university reorganization that included merging units from the College of Human Sciences and Education with the College of Health Professions, he was named Interim Dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences after an internal search. The newly merged college included 2,853 students, 127 faculty, 68 staff, $21 million operating budget, and $9 million in extramural funding. During his term as dean and interim dean, the colleges he led at NDSU raised more than $3.5 million in private funding to support scholarships, research, outreach, and strategic initiatives
Dr. Werner-Wilson began his career as an Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University (1993-1995). He was an Assistant Professor and Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic at Colorado State University (1995-1998). He was an Assistant and Associate Professor at Iowa State University (1998-2007), where he was Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. He was a Professor in the Family Sciences Department at the University of Kentucky (2007-2022), where he served as the Chellgren Endowed Professor for Research and Department Chair.
