In CSIT561: Computer Security, Professor Samanthula uses a combination of on-camera video and tablet capture illustrations to explain his work. The tablet capture video, also known as a “digital whiteboard” enables him to draw by hand while narrating the steps of what is shown. This helps model steps students are expected to follow in an authentic, personalized manner.
The course includes a broad variety of course materials covering computer security concepts. The use of a tablet enables Professor Samanthula to annotate his presentations by drawing concept maps and other visual explanations to help focus students’ attention and explain important concepts.
