General Information
Undergraduate students can review established course equivalents in our Transfer Credit Equivalent Database.
Please Note: Transfer equivalents are reviewed and updated daily, so the equivalents posted in the database are not official. An official credit evaluation is provided to students within 10 business days after they are accepted to the University, as long as an official college transcript has been received.
How To Use the Database
- Access the Transfer Credit Equivalent Database.
- You may either enter the name of your prior institution into the Institution Search box or find the school listed on the A-Z index.
- Click on the name of your school. All courses with Montclair equivalents will be listed.
Important Information
Create My List: You may add courses to My List by clicking on the box on the right side of the course. After selecting your courses, click on Add/View My List to fully understand the equivalency. You may export My List to excel, email it to yourself, or clear out My List by clicking on the appropriate icon on the top of My List.
Course Notes: Some course equivalents have attached Notes. These Notes will provide additional information about the equivalent. Courses with Notes have a check mark in the Note column. You may view the specific note by either clicking on the hyperlink of the course or by adding the course to My List.
Missing an Equivalent?
If a course is not listed, it means that it has not yet been evaluated for equivalency. This does not mean that the course is not transferable, rather, it just means that it has yet to be reviewed. Generally speaking, as long as a course is acceptable to the University the course will be equated to, at minimum, free elective credit. The official course evaluation will take place after the student is accepted to the University. Please review the Undergraduate Transfer Policy to learn more about acceptable credits.
