Why should I attend the Hispanic Student College Institute?
Students should apply to attend the HSCI if they are interested in learning about the college admissions process from admissions experts, developing skills including public speaking, essay writing, goal setting and leadership, exploring different career paths by hearing from many of our talented student leaders and alumni, and earning a certificate of completion to include on their resume. Students will also be eligible for scholarships and will meet and network with 150-200 of their peers from the tri-state area.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost to students for attending the Hispanic Student College Institute.
Do I have to stay overnight, or can I commute to campus each day?
It is dtly advised for students to stay overnight. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact Jordanna Maziarz at maziarzj@montclair.edu to discuss other options.
How do I apply?
The 2018 application will be available online in January. If you’d like to be contacted when the application for the 2018 Institute is available, please fill out this brief form.
What do I need to bring with me to the Hispanic Student College Institute?
A full welcome packet will be sent to all students accepted to the HSCI that includes detailed information, but students should be prepared to bring a set of twin sized bed linens, a pillow, towels and toiletries, clothes and a laptop or tablet if they have one.
