After being admitted to Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, you’ll spend your first year completing 8 Nursing prerequisite courses and First Year Seminar:
- Argumentative and Analytic Writing
- Synthesis and Research Writing
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II
- General Psychology
- Sociology
- First Year Seminar
- Nutrition
- Understanding Data
Once accepted into the Nursing major, you’ll begin three years of full-time nursing coursework and clinical experiences — designed to build your confidence, sharpen your skills, and prepare you to sit for the NCLEX-RN.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission into the BSN program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Grade of C or better in all Nursing and prerequisite courses
- Minimum score of 58.7 on the TEAS entrance exam
- The TEAS exam must be taken in-person at an approved testing center
- The TEAS exam must be completed by May 15 of the year before program entry
- Spring semester courses must be completed by May 31
- Science courses must be taken within the last 5 years
Annual criminal background checks are required for program entry — and are also a prerequisite for licensure in New Jersey
