Tuition Waiver and Reimbursement Deadlines
Applications must be submitted by Monday, December 1 for the winter session and by Thursday, January 1 for the spring semester. Performance Management Key Dates and Reminder: AFT Professional Staff
On Wednesday, October 8 and Friday, October 31, new evaluations were launched in Workday for AFT Professional Staff contracts. Please review the upcoming key dates and actions required by viewing the AFT Professional Staff Evaluation and Reappointment Schedule 2025 – 2026.

Graduate School’s Micro-Internship Program
Host a graduate student intern through the Graduate School’s Micro-Internship program. These short-term roles give graduate students hands-on experience, professional development and new networking opportunities while supporting your team. The Graduate School will provide the intern’s compensation up to $5,000 for approved projects submitted by Monday, November 17. Questions? Contact gradstudentservices@montclair.edu.

Request a Library Instruction Session for Your Students
If your students are working on research projects in their course (or in your lab), consider requesting a library instruction session. Librarians can teach students information literacy and other research-related skills such as how to efficiently find quality resources. Two weeks advance notice is preferred.

- Eric Weiner (Educational Foundations), published a Letter to the Editor in The New Yorker responding to an article on President Trump’s attack on research and critical thinking in higher education.
- Daniela Peterka-Benton (Global Center on Human Trafficking, Justice Studies) was cited in Kathleen Kellett’s podcast episode, “The Kids of Conspiracy Stories: The Spectacle of Victimhood from Blood Libel to the X-Files” on the misrepresentation of human trafficking in the movie Sound of Freedom.
Kudos
- To Antonella Calarota-Ninman (Center for Latine and Spanish Academic Success and Excellence), who received a scholarship from the Mellon Foundation to be part of the ENLACE Mid-Level leadership program for the year 2025-2026 with HACU.
- To Team Red Hawk for hosting its annual interprofessional collaborative event. 82 students from six health related disciplines came together to resolve challenging ethical case studies. Team Red Hawk comprises seven disciplines who are working together to deliver interprofessional collaborative opportunities for health professional students.
- To Jane Sanchez Swain (Montclair Unbound), who presented at the 2025 NACADA Annual Conference on the use of strengths-based advising to empower adult degree completers.
- To the Office of Annual Giving for winning an award at the 2025 Giveys: RNL ScaleFunder’s Innovation and Excitement Award Show. The show celebrates Giving Days for all of the Scalefunder clients. Montclair also won a Giving Day Gamification Award for our Thanks-a-Latte campaign.
- To Chloe Bellerby, Katie Lanigan and Joanne Powser (Residential Life), for winning Region’s Best Presentation for “Student Staff Roles: Evolved and Expanded” at the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO) Annual Conference in Atlantic City, NJ.
