AFT Professional Staff – Evaluation and Reappointment

Montclair State University professional staff (“AFT Professional Staff”) appointed pursuant to the collective negotiations agreement between the State of New Jersey and the Council of New Jersey State College and University Locals – AFL-CIO (“Council”) are subject to performance reviews and contract reappointment based on Article XIII, Appointment and Retention of Employees of the agreement. AFT Professional staff are eligible for five (5) annual probationary contracts and, upon completion of five-years of probationary service, are eligible for appointment to a multi-year contract.

The AFT Professional Staff reappointments, based on years of service, will follow the reappointment schedules listed below. Please Note: The dates for the reappointment schedules have been modified in accordance with the 2019-2023 collective negotiations agreement.

AFT Professional Staff will receive an email and notification in Workday regarding the Reappointment Process Start Date and instructions to complete the initial self-evaluation. To confirm your current contract and which reappointment process applies to you, go to your Workday profile; select the ‘Actions’ button; select ‘Job Change’ and then move your mouse to ‘Employee Contracts’ and click
