Join Outdoor Adventure on a winter excursion to the Adirondacks where you’ll ski, hike, skate and tube in the largest park in the country. We will be spending 5 days and 4 nights in Upstate New York in January.
Join us on our off-campus Snow Tubing Trip to Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ. The trip includes transportation to and from Mountain Creek. Please arrive at the Student Recreation Center no later than 11:30am The bus will leave promptly from the Student Recreation Center at 12:00pm, and will be returning to the Student Recreation Center at approximately 6:00pm. Please do not forget to bring water, lunch, warm layered clothing, gloves, and snow boots, or sturdy shoes.

GroupX Preview Days will be a 3 day long event before the official launching of the Spring GroupX schedule. Everyone can sample all of our classes, including 20 minute demos of all our formats including such as our newest additions: POUND, Cardio Kickboxing, Cardio Barre, and Real Ryder Cycling. Snacks and random giveaways (towels, bottles) for all who participate. For more information, click here.
For all of you BINGO lovers out there, we are hosting BINGO again, just like last year. We will be collecting cans that will be donated to the Montclair Food Pantry. 2 cans will earn a participant 1 additional board, and will have the opportunity to earn up to 5 additional boards (6 boards in total including the one given at the door). Every 2 cans after that will allow participants to earn an additional raffle ticket for the raffle prize.
Arena football is an indoor flag football event that will be played in the gym. This is a free event in which teams of 5 participants can sign up in the main office, or at the event. The winning team members will receive IM Sports Camo T-Shirts as their prize. There will be a lot more awards and prizes at the event, so make sure to come and play!

This is the registration deadline for Basketball, and Extreme Dodgeball, offered for the first half of the Spring semester. Participants must sign up on IMLeagues.com, and pay in the main office before their first game. Each sport costs $10 for an individual to play (which can be paid in the main office), or, $60 for a Greek Team or organization. There will also be a captain's meeting in the evening. Participants compete in time-based events, including swimming, biking and running. Each person is assigned a lane, bike, and treadmill on which to compete. There is a 15, then 5 minute transition between each event. The transition from swim to bike is now 15 minutes, and the transition from bike to run is still 5 minutes.
Enjoy a great day of Paintball with your friends on an outdoor location. Event will be taking place rain or shine. Everything will be provided including ammo and rentals, but don't forget to bring your own lunch.
Bubble soccer tournament is a free event. Sign up in Main office or at the event. There will be raffles and many prizes.
Spring B Registration Deadline

This is the registration deadline for the sports offered for the second half of the spring semester. This is the last day to register for Tennis, Outdoor Soccer, Kickball, Softball, and Street Hockey. A captain's meeting will be required in Multi purpose room.
Teams of 2 will compete in canoes, and attempt to sink the other boat before they go under or fall out. Each team will be given 1 paddle, and 1 bucket to try and fill the other boat. Rounds will last 5 minutes, tournament style.
Registration: 3/1 - 3/22 in office for pre-registration, on site for drop-in; Space isn't guaranteed;

Zumba Glow is a glow in the dark/black light Zumba event. Patrons will receive a t-shirt if they donate $2, and the proceeds will go toward the Student Development and Campus Life Food Pantry. There will be a prize raffle held at the end of the event. Everyone who pre-registers will receive one raffle ticket, and an additional raffle ticket for those who donate for a t-shirt, as well as an additional raffle ticket for $1 a piece or 6 tickets for $5.
Come on down to the Student Recreation Center to win some fabulous prizes! Think you can guess the price of our awesome prizes? They can be yours if you are the closest! First 100 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt. You must have a Student ID in order to be eligible.
A challenging 3.5 miles long hike up steep inclines and over rock scrambles at Mt. Tammany which gives spectacular views. Extreme elevation gain and excellent hiking condition is required. Hiking shoes or boots are required. Sneakers are NOT acceptable.

Personal Training will be hosting our bi-annual Bench Press/Squat competition at the Student Recreation Center where the winner shall be crowned Montclair State’s strongest on campus. There will be a division for both males and females. The competition will utilize a point scoring system that takes into account the amount of weight lifted, the number of repetitions performed in good form, and the competitor’s body weight. This system will ensure an equal competition for everyone. The competitor will have 3 sets in which they will choose the amount of weight and then perform as many repetitions as possible (up to 10 repetitions are scored) and will have a rest period of up to 120 seconds between each set. Poker ride will begin at the SRC, take participants all over campus where they visit each table and draw a playing card to build their poker hand. Free week rental credit and a Hawk on Wheels water bottle to all who pre-register and participate. The Hawk on Wheels Poker Ride is back and welcoming back Spring with the Poker Ride. Prizes will be awarded to the top hands and the worst hands. Pre-register in the SRC main office and participate in the poker ride to receive a water bottle and 1 week rental credit.

Yoga and Yogurt is an event where participants attend a yoga class and enjoy free yogurt at the end, so that they have an opportunity to relax as they prepare for finals that takes place the following week. There will be tables set-up outside of the Multipurpose Rooms with yogurt.

Location: Ricketts Glen State Park (Begins and ends at Student Recreation Center)
Details: 2-night camping trip to Ricketts Glen State Forest in Pennsylvania. Camping can take place in tents. Event will feature several hikes. We will prepare all meals, including dinner on Friday, breakfast lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Depart Friday, return Sunday.
What to Bring: Sturdy shoes, bedding, toiletries, and empty water bottles. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED.
Potential Hazards: Poisonous plants/allergies, insect bites, unpredictable weather changes, sunburn/heat exhaustion, dehydration, steep, rocky, and/or slippery terrain, rolling or falling rocks, snakes and large animals, injuries including sprains/strains, abrasions, lacerations, and fractures.
Kayaking The Delaware

Join us for our 13th Annual Red Hawk Run! This 5k walk/run will be the second Red Hawk Run Color Blast! It is recommended that you wear white clothes to maximize the effect of the paint. The first 100 participants to register will receive a free Red Hawk Run t-shirt.
All proceeds from this event will be donated towards assisting the Father English Community Center in Paterson, NJ. The Father English Community Center’s mission is to create hope, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those who seek help within their surrounding communities. The center offers social services to youth, adults, and families in need, always with a preference for the poor and most vulnerable.
Moderate Hike (Bearfort Mountain) A moderate to strenuous 4.1 mile hike along the NJ-NY state line; some steep inclines and rock scrambles lead to stunning views of Greenwood Lake and NYC on a clear day; hike also stops along Surprise Lake and covers a short section of the Appalachian Trail.
Let Hawk-on-Wheels treat you to a FREE bicycle rental so you can cruise along the boardwalk from Belmar to Asbury Park. Take a ride on the Carousel, see the historic Paramount Theatre and check out local artists at the Grand Arcade. And of course, music history everywhere!

Essex County’s own Turtleback Zoo is located just minutes from campus. Try the beginner’s level ropes course, take a spin in the paddle boats or just hang with the animals – there are brand new baby giraffes! This is the perfect event for those new to our program. Also, it’s family-friendly!
