The Department of Campus Recreation strives to be an integral part of the collegiate experience and offers exceptional services to students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Our Mission
Our Aquatics Department provides swimming events and programs to all Montclair State affiliates and the community at large. Interested in playing club sports or esports in college? Check out Club Sports for a variety of levels of competitions. Club Sports compete against other universities. With so many teams or leagues, there is something for everyone! Visit Equipment Checkout at the Student Recreation Center where they lend a variety of equipment to students with their Montclair State University ID for FREE and the Lost and Found is located. Equipment Checkout also sells at cost apparel, athletic equipment, personal care items, and other accessories. We provide you with dynamic Group Exercise classes, Personal Training sessions and programs dedicated to shaping your body. Interested in playing intramural sports in college? Check out Intramural Sports for a variety of levels of competitions. Intramural Sports are organized leagues for only Montclair State students to play other students. With so many teams or leagues, there is something for everyone! We give our campus community new opportunities to explore the beauty and splendor of New Jersey and the surrounding areas by offering a wide range of trips including canoeing, hiking, camping, tubing and so much more. We host a variety of events for students throughout the year including free events and fundraisers for various local charities. RecBoard is a student-led organization, sponsored by Montclair State University’s Department of Campus Recreation. Our members are committed to creating, organizing, promoting and administering special events and community service opportunities in order to strengthen the social fabric of the Montclair State University student community. Come join us! If you lost one of your personal items in the Student Recreation Center, stop by the Equipment Checkout window to see if someone turned it in! We will store found items in our lost and found bins for one month.
